With all of the technology in place and a controlled environment in which to swing, you’ll get outstanding video that you can use to analyze your technique and make improvements. Getting Started
When you would like to check out swing videos during your GolfCave session, you’ll just need to navigate to the correct part of the main screen to make that happen. Choose the Menu icon in the top-right corner (it looks like four small boxes), and then pick Video from that menu. You’ll immediately be taken to a screen that shows a video of your screen. Both face-on and down-the-line angles are available, so you can get the right perspective on the part of your swing you’d like to analyze.
Some Tips
For a professional golf teacher who spends all day using this technology, it’s easy to jump from place to place to find just the right view. That’s probably not how you spend most of your time, however, so you might find these quick tips helpful –
- Show both angles. You can split the screen in the video analysis area so you are able to view both your down-the-line and face-on angles at the same time. These angles will be synchronized perfectly so you can watch how your swing develops while moving the video back and forth.
- Try scrolling. The golf swing happens fast – and that makes it hard to see exactly what you are doing with your swing in real time. To slow things down, try pausing your video and then using the scroll function on the mouse to move it forward or back, one frame at a time.
- While it might not be the most flattering experience, comparing your swing to a professional can help you spot areas for improvement. To do this, look to the bottom-left corner of the screen and select Shot List, and then Compare. In this area, you can pick from a long list of professional golfers, and you can put their swing side-by-side with your own.
Finishing It Up
When your session is finishing up and you’ve made your final swings, choose the Report feature on the screen to send all of the information you’ve gathered right to your email inbox. You’ll get detailed data of all of the swings you made with your various clubs, in addition to the videos you’ve recorded.
